Eligibility Criteria
The Faculty of Arts & Humanities offers an internship program for students interested in gaining practical experience with an approved institution or industry related to their field of interest or degree.

Students are eligible for the AHIP if they satisfy all the following approval criteria:
Internship Eligibility Criteria
Registered in second, third, or fourth year.*
*Students must be enrolled full-time. Students registered with Accessible Education are considered full-time if enrolled in 40% of a full-time course load (i.e. 1.0 credit or more per term). Please advise the Experiential Learning Specialist that you are registered with Accessible Education and have been approved for a reduced course load.
(a) Second-year students can start applying for internships in the summer term following their first year, provided their first-year average is at least 78%; (b) Fourth-year students who plan to graduate in the summer may not be eligible and should consult Academic Counselling about their eligibility; and (c) Special Students should consult Academic Counselling about their eligibility.
Enrolled in Major, Honours Specialization, or Specialization in 桃子视频鈥檚 Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
Have maintained a cumulative average of at least 70% with no failures or academic offences.
Third- and fourth-year students must have a cumulative average of at least 70% with no failures. Second-year students must have a cumulative average of at least 78% with no failures.
Participation in an AHIP for-credit or non-credit internship requires verification that a student has not been found guilty of a Scholastic Offence. By applying to the AHIP, the student consents to a check for offences through the office of the Associate Dean, Academic.
The Experiential Learning Specialist/Assistant verifies the student's eligibility upon receiving their application in 桃子视频 Connect.

Completed the required Internship Preparation requirements.
Once accepted, the following Internship Preparation MUST be completed before the internship begins:
(1) Career Fundamentals: Complete four Career Fundamentals for University Students modules.
(2) CliftonStrengths for Students Assessment and three online modules.
(3) Bias and Microaggressions: Impact, Prevention, and Intervention training.
(4) Resume and Cover Letter review by 桃子视频's Career Education's Peer Advisor Program (CEPA).

Certificates of completion for all requirements must be uploaded to the AHIP OWL Brightspace site (students will be added once their application has been evaluated).

Have an eligible work permit (international students only).**
All international students must be enrolled in the AHIP before applying for their work permit. Learn more about the process on our International Students page or contact ahintern@uwo.ca.
** If you are an international student with a work permit, please contact Academic Advising to confirm your eligibility for an internship.
Note: Due to funding criteria, some internships are restricted to students who will return to full-time studies following their internship.
